NASA Robotics Academy

In the past, I have served as an organizer and mentor for the Robotics Academy (RoboAcad) program at NASA Ames Research Center.  RoboAcad is a summer program run by the Office of Education using robotics to inspire students about science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).  Every year, the program recruits around 20-30 high school and undergraduate students and challenges them to design and build a small rover for the moon.

Science Bowl

In the past, I have volunteered for the regional middle school science bowl competitions held by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE).  The competition is a nationwide academic competition that tests students’ knowledge in all areas of science and mathematics.  Teams of four students face-off in a fast-paced question-and-answer format, being tested on a range of science disciplines including biology, chemistry, Earth science, physics, energy, and math.
